This Payment, Fees, Refunds, Cancellations & No-Show Policy (“Policy”) explains how SitReady handles Booking payments, applicable fees, Sitter earnings and payouts, cancellations, refunds, no-shows, lateness, Booking changes, emergencies, payment disputes, and related financial matters.This Policy applies to Instant, Scheduled, Recurring, and Extended Bookings and forms part of SitReady’s Terms of Service.
2. BOOKING PRICES AND CHARGES
When a Parent confirms a Booking, the Parent agrees to pay the childcare amount displayed for the Booking together with any applicable:
• SitReady Service Fee;
• taxes;
• approved Booking extensions or modifications;
• applicable cancellation charges; and
• other amounts clearly disclosed before the charge is made. The confirmed price remains applicable unless the Booking is subsequently modified or extended, a cancellation or no-show rule applies, or another adjustment is authorized under this Policy.
3. SITREADY FEES
SitReady may charge fees to Parents, Sitters, or both. Applicable fees will be disclosed through the Booking, checkout, onboarding, payout, or other applicable Platform process.Fees charged to Sitters may be deducted from Sitter earnings as reflected in the applicable payment or payout information. Parent fees, when applicable, may be displayed separately from the childcare amount.SitReady may modify its fees for future transactions. Any fee change will not retroactively alter the disclosed price of a previously confirmed Booking.
4. PAYMENT PROCESSING
SitReady uses Stripe, Stripe Connect, or another authorized payment provider to process Parent payments and Sitter payouts.By adding a payment method and confirming a Booking, the Parent authorizes charges permitted by the Booking and this Policy.A temporary authorization or payment hold may appear before or in connection with a Booking. Such an authorization does not necessarily represent a completed charge and may be released according to the applicable payment provider’s or financial institution’s processing procedures.
5. PARENT PAYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Parents are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method and sufficient available funds or credit to satisfy amounts properly due.If a payment fails, is declined, expires, is reversed, or otherwise cannot be processed, SitReady may:
• request an alternative payment method;
• retry an authorized charge;
• restrict new Bookings;
• cancel an unpaid Booking where appropriate; or
• restrict the Parent’s Account until the outstanding balance is resolved. Parents may not use false fraud claims, knowingly improper chargebacks, stop-payment requests, or other payment methods or practices to intentionally avoid valid charges.
6. SITTER EARNINGS AND PAYOUTS
A Sitter’s earnings are generally based on the childcare compensation associated with a Booking, less any applicable:
• disclosed Sitter fees;
• refunds;
• reversals;
• chargebacks;
• legally required tax withholding; or
• other authorized adjustments. Sitter payouts are processed through SitReady’s designated payment provider.
The timing of a payout may vary because of bank processing, account verification, weekends or holidays, risk review, refunds, payment disputes, chargebacks, reserves, or other payment-processing conditions.
7. HOW TO CANCEL
Parents and Sitters should cancel through the SitReady website or mobile application whenever the cancellation function is available.A message to the other User does not, by itself, constitute an official cancellation unless the Platform is unavailable and SitReady Support confirms an alternative cancellation method.The cancellation timestamp recorded by SitReady determines the applicable cancellation period.Users should cancel as soon as they know that they cannot complete a Booking.
8. PARENT CANCELLATION REFUND AND SITTER COMPENSATION SCHEDULE
Unless a different rule is clearly disclosed for a particular Booking or an approved emergency exception applies, the following schedule applies when a Parent cancels a confirmed Booking:Cancellation NoticeParent RefundSitter CompensationMore than 24 hours before start100% refund of childcare amountNo cancellation compensation12–24 hours before start50% refund of childcare amount50% of scheduled childcare compensation6–12 hours before start25% refund of childcare amount75% of scheduled childcare compensationLess than 6 hours before startNo refund of childcare amount100% of scheduled childcare compensationParent no-showNo refund unless an approved exception applies100% of scheduled childcare compensationThe applicable cancellation period is determined using the Booking’s scheduled start time and SitReady’s recorded cancellation timestamp.
9. SAME
-DAY, LAST-MINUTE, AND INSTANT BOOKINGSA same-day, last-minute, or Instant Booking accepted less than six hours before its scheduled start time is non-refundable if the Parent subsequently cancels, unless an approved exception applies.
In such circumstances, the Sitter is eligible for 100% of the scheduled childcare compensation.If the Booking is accepted six or more hours before the scheduled start time, the standard cancellation schedule applies based on the amount of notice provided.If the Sitter cancels or fails to provide the accepted care, the Parent receives a full refund for childcare that was not provided.
10. SITTER CANCELLATIONS AND NO
-SHOWSA Sitter who accepts a Booking is expected to honor that commitment.If a Sitter can no longer provide the agreed care, the Sitter must cancel through SitReady as soon as reasonably possible and should promptly notify the Parent.If a Sitter cancels before childcare begins:
• the Parent receives a full refund of the childcare amount; and
• the canceling Sitter receives no compensation for that Booking. A Sitter may be considered a no-show if the Sitter fails to arrive at the confirmed location within a reasonable period after the scheduled start time without adequate notice or an approved exception.If a Sitter no-shows:
• the Parent receives a full refund for childcare that was not provided; and
• the Sitter receives no compensation. SitReady may attempt to locate another available Sitter after a Sitter cancellation or no-show. The Parent is not required to accept a replacement.Repeated or serious Sitter cancellations or no-shows may result in reduced visibility, Booking restrictions, suspension, or removal from SitReady.
11. ARRIVAL VERIFICATION AND NO
-SHOW DETERMINATIONSWhen available, SitReady may consider arrival-verification information, including an arrival or check-in timestamp generated from a Sitter’s device location near the confirmed Booking start time.Such information may be considered together with:
• in-platform messages;
• support records;
• call records;
• Booking information; and
• other relevant evidence. Location information is supporting evidence and is not automatically conclusive.
12. PARENT NO
-SHOWSA Parent may be considered a no-show when the Sitter arrives at the confirmed location ready and able to provide care, but the Parent:
• is unavailable;
• is unreachable;
• denies necessary access;
• has arranged other care without cancelling the Booking; or
• otherwise prevents the Booking from beginning for reasons not caused by the Sitter. A Parent no-show receives no refund unless an approved exception applies, and the Sitter is eligible for 100% of the scheduled childcare compensation.The Sitter should make reasonable efforts to contact the Parent through SitReady and must not enter a residence without authorization. A verified arrival or check-in record may assist in establishing that the Sitter reached the confirmed Booking location and was ready to provide care. SitReady may consider that record together with messages, call records, support records, and other available evidence when reviewing a disputed Parent no-show.
13. SITTER LATENESS
Sitters are expected to arrive on time and ready to begin care at the confirmed Booking start time.A Sitter who expects to be late should notify the Parent as soon as reasonably possible.Minor lateness does not automatically constitute a no-show. If significant lateness materially reduces the childcare provided, SitReady may adjust Sitter compensation or the Parent’s refund based on the circumstances.Repeated lateness may affect the Sitter’s Account standing. SitReady may consider arrival or check-in timestamps when reviewing lateness. GPS inaccuracies, disabled permissions, network problems, device issues, and other technical failures may be considered where relevant.
14. PARENT LATE RETURN AND BOOKING EXTENSIONS
Parents are expected to return, or arrange an authorized transfer of care, by the confirmed Booking end time.A Parent who expects to be late should promptly contact the Sitter and request an extension through SitReady when the extension feature is available.The Sitter must agree to an extension and is not required to remain beyond the confirmed end time without agreeing to the extension.The Parent is responsible for additional childcare charges and applicable fees associated with an approved extension. If the Parent cannot be reached and does not return, the Sitter should prioritize the Child’s immediate safety, attempt to contact the Parent and listed emergency contacts, and follow SitReady’s applicable safety procedures.SitReady Support is not an emergency-response service.
15. EARLY OR PARTIALLY COMPLETED BOOKINGS
If a Parent voluntarily ends a Booking early because the Parent no longer needs the full reserved period, the Parent remains responsible for the original reserved Booking amount and the Sitter remains eligible for the scheduled compensation.If a Booking ends early because:
• the Sitter cannot complete the agreed care;
• the parties mutually agree to shorten the Booking;
• a qualifying emergency occurs; or
• a serious safety or policy issue requires the Booking to end, SitReady may adjust the amount paid to the Sitter and the amount refunded to the Parent based on the circumstances.A Sitter must never abandon a Child or leave the Child without an authorized responsible adult.If a Sitter leaves early without Parent agreement, a legitimate safety reason, or an emergency, SitReady may reduce the Sitter’s compensation, issue an appropriate Parent refund, and take action against the Sitter’s Account.
16. MUTUALLY AGREED BOOKING CHANGES
A Parent and Sitter may mutually agree to change, shorten, or extend a Booking.
When SitReady provides a Booking modification feature, the change should be recorded through the Platform.The Parent is responsible for any additional amount associated with an approved extension or other billable Booking modification.
17. EMERGENCY AND EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES
SitReady may make an exception to the standard cancellation, no-show, refund, or compensation rules when a genuine emergency or extraordinary event prevents a Parent or Sitter from completing a Booking.Examples may include:
• hospitalization or serious illness;
• a significant vehicle accident;
• death of an immediate family member;
• evacuation;
• natural disaster;
• severe weather;
• government closure affecting safe travel or childcare;
• serious transportation emergencies; or
• another comparable event outside the User’s reasonable control. SitReady may request reasonable supporting documentation, including medical, accident, transportation, government, insurance, or other reliable records.Providing documentation does not automatically guarantee an exception. SitReady may consider the circumstances, timing, available information, and whether the event actually prevented the User from completing the Booking.
18. SEVERE WEATHER AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS
Users are responsible for considering reasonably foreseeable travel and weather conditions before accepting or maintaining a Booking.Ordinary traffic or minor weather delays generally do not automatically excuse a cancellation or no-show.When severe weather, evacuation orders, road closures, government restrictions, or comparable conditions make travel or childcare unsafe or impracticable, SitReady may treat the circumstances as an extenuating event.
19. SAFETY
-RELATED BOOKING TERMINATIONA Parent or Sitter is not required to remain in an immediately unsafe situation merely to preserve payment or refund rights.If a Booking ends because of an alleged:
• safety threat;
• dangerous environment;
• serious misconduct;
• abuse or neglect;
• impairment;
• unauthorized persons;
• serious undisclosed hazard;
• illegal activity;
• medical emergency; or
• other significant safety concern, SitReady may review the incident before determining the final Parent refund and Sitter compensation.
20. RECURRING BOOKINGS
Each occurrence in a Recurring Booking series is generally treated as a separate Booking for payment, cancellation, refund, no-show, and Sitter compensation purposes.Cancelling one occurrence does not automatically cancel the entire series unless the Parent selects an option to cancel future occurrences.Each cancelled occurrence is subject to the applicable cancellation schedule based on the notice provided for that occurrence.
21. EXTENDED BOOKINGS
Extended Bookings are subject to this Policy unless different payment or cancellation terms are clearly displayed before confirmation.If an Extended Booking is partially completed, SitReady may adjust payment and refund amounts based on:
• the completed portion;
• the uncompleted portion; and
• the reason the Booking ended.
22. SITREADY SERVICE FEE REFUNDS
SitReady fees are separate from the childcare amount.A SitReady fee may be non-refundable when the fee was clearly disclosed as non-refundable before the applicable transaction.When a Sitter cancels or no-shows, SitReady may refund the Parent’s associated SitReady fee together with the childcare amount.
23. REFUND AND PAYMENT ADJUSTMENT REQUESTS
Refund or payment-adjustment requests should be submitted through SitReady Support or the available in-app support process.SitReady may review:
• Booking timestamps and status;
• cancellation records;
• in-platform communications;
• payment records;
• support communications;
• incident reports; and
• documentation supplied by the Parent or Sitter. SitReady may request additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate a request.
24. REFUND PROCESSING
Approved refunds are generally returned to the original payment method.After SitReady initiates a refund, the time required for the funds to appear may depend on the payment provider, financial institution, payment method, and ordinary banking-processing timelines. SitReady does not control the processing time imposed by a financial institution or payment provider.
25. DISPUTED CANCELLATIONS AND NO
-SHOWSIf a Parent and Sitter disagree regarding what occurred during a Booking, either User may contact SitReady Support.
SitReady may review relevant Platform and transaction records before determining whether an adjustment is appropriate.Where appropriate, SitReady may temporarily delay a discretionary payment adjustment or refund while a disputed cancellation, no-show, or safety incident is reviewed. For disputes concerning arrival, departure, lateness, no-show status, early departure, or Booking duration, SitReady may review available arrival/check-in and departure/check-out timestamps created through the Platform’s location-verification functionality.These records may be considered together with other evidence and do not independently guarantee the outcome of a dispute.
26. PAYMENT DISPUTES AND CHARGEBACKS
Parents retain any rights available through their bank, card issuer, payment network, or applicable law.Where reasonable, Parents are encouraged to contact SitReady Support first so SitReady has an opportunity to investigate and attempt to resolve the concern.If a chargeback or payment dispute is filed, SitReady may provide relevant transaction, Booking, cancellation, communication, and refund records to the applicable payment provider or financial institution.Knowingly false or fraudulent chargebacks may result in Account restrictions or termination.A good-faith exercise of a lawful payment-dispute right will not, by itself, be treated as misconduct.
27. FALSE CLAIMS, FRAUD, AND POLICY ABUSE
Users may not intentionally provide false information concerning:
• a cancellation;
• arrival or departure time;
• a no-show;
• an emergency;
• a safety incident; or
• the reason a Booking could not occur. Users may not:
• fabricate supporting documentation;
• manipulate Platform records;
• coordinate false claims;
• falsely report a no-show;
• falsely claim an emergency; or
• cancel a SitReady Booking and privately complete the same childcare arrangement for the purpose of avoiding SitReady fees or safety safeguards. SitReady may deny or reverse a discretionary refund or compensation and may restrict, suspend, or terminate an Account when reliable evidence indicates intentional fraud, refund abuse, false no-show claims, fabricated emergency documentation, collusion, payment fraud, or deliberate Platform circumvention. Users may not spoof, falsify, manipulate, intentionally disable for deceptive purposes, or otherwise interfere with SitReady’s arrival/departure location-verification or check-in/check-out records.
28. REFUNDS AFTER A SITTER PAYOUT
If a refund, reversal, or payment dispute occurs after funds have already been allocated or paid to a Sitter, SitReady or its payment provider may recover or offset the applicable amount from available or future Sitter funds when authorized.Any such adjustment may be processed through the applicable payment system and Account balance.
29. REPEATED RELIABILITY PROBLEMS
Repeated Parent late cancellations or no-shows may result in:
• warnings;
• restrictions on certain Booking features;
• requirements to resolve outstanding balances;
• suspension; or
• other reasonable Account action. Sitters remain free to decline Booking opportunities before accepting them.Once a Sitter accepts a Booking, repeated cancellations, excessive lateness, or no-shows may affect the Sitter’s reliability standing, search visibility, access to Booking opportunities, suspension status, or continued eligibility to use SitReady.
30. TAXES
Applicable taxes may be collected, withheld, reported, or remitted when required by applicable law.Sitters are responsible for their own tax obligations except for amounts that SitReady or its payment provider is legally required to withhold or report.
31. PROMOTIONAL CREDITS
If SitReady offers promotional credits, referral credits, coupons, or goodwill credits, additional terms may apply.Unless otherwise stated or required by law, promotional value is not redeemable for cash.If a Booking paid partly with promotional credit is refunded, the applicable promotional amount may be restored as Platform credit rather than refunded as cash.
32. ACCOUNT CLOSURE AND OUTSTANDING TRANSACTIONS
Closing, deactivating, or deleting a SitReady Account does not cancel or eliminate any outstanding:
• payment obligation;
• refund;
• chargeback;
• payout adjustment;
• payment dispute; or
• other financial matter connected to transactions that occurred before Account closure.
33. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
SitReady may update this Policy from time to time.Changes will apply as described in the updated Policy and any notice provided through the Platform. A change will not retroactively alter a completed transaction unless required by applicable law or agreed to by the affected User.
34. CONTACT SITREADY
Questions concerning payments, fees, payouts, cancellations, refunds, no-shows, lateness, Booking modifications, or disputed transactions may be submitted through SitReady Support or the support options available through the SitReady website or mobile application.
