Childcare Services Disclaimer & Limitation of Platform Role
SITREADYCHILDCARE SERVICES DISCLAIMER & LIMITATION OF PLATFORM ROLE
1. ABOUT THIS DISCLAIMER
This Childcare Services Disclaimer & Limitation of Platform Role explains SitReady’s role in connecting Parents and independent Sitters and describes important limitations concerning childcare services arranged through the SitReady Platform.This Disclaimer forms part of SitReady’s Terms of Service and should be read together with the Parent User Agreement, Sitter User Agreement, Independent Contractor Agreement, Background Check & Screening Policy, Safety, Trust & Incident Reporting Policy, Payment, Fees, Refunds, Cancellations & No-Show Policy, Privacy Policy, and other applicable SitReady policies.
2. SITREADY IS A TECHNOLOGY MARKETPLACE
SitReady provides a technology platform that allows Parents seeking childcare to find, communicate with, evaluate, and arrange Bookings with independent Sitters who choose to offer childcare services.SitReady does not itself provide babysitting or childcare services. The childcare services associated with a Booking are provided by the Sitter directly to the Parent and Child.SitReady may provide Platform features including profiles, availability tools, Booking functionality, messaging, payment processing, screening-status indicators, reviews, customer support, safety reporting, and Account administration. Providing these features does not make SitReady the provider of the underlying childcare services.
3. SITREADY DOES NOT EMPLOY SITTERS
Sitters use SitReady as independent service providers and are not employees of SitReady.SitReady does not hire Sitters as household employees of Parents, place Sitters on SitReady employee schedules, guarantee work, require Sitters to accept particular Bookings, or guarantee any particular level of earnings.Sitters decide whether to make themselves available, which Booking opportunities to accept or decline, and whether to continue offering services through SitReady, subject to SitReady’s Platform eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements.Nothing in this Disclaimer changes any legal classification that applicable law requires based on the actual relationship between the parties.
4. SITREADY DOES NOT DIRECT DAY
-TO-DAY CHILDCARESitReady does not ordinarily remain present during a Booking and does not directly supervise the Sitter while childcare is being provided.The Parent is responsible for communicating the Child’s care instructions, routines, restrictions, authorized activities, emergency information, and other Booking-specific expectations to the Sitter.The Sitter is responsible for providing the accepted care using appropriate judgment and in accordance with applicable law and SitReady policies.Platform policies establishing minimum safety, conduct, eligibility, payment, or reporting requirements do not mean that SitReady controls every decision made during an individual childcare Booking.
5. PARENTS SELECT THEIR SITTERS
Parents are responsible for deciding whether a particular Sitter is appropriate for their Child and family.SitReady may provide information and tools to assist Parents in making that decision, but SitReady does not make the final childcare selection for the Parent.Parents should review available Sitter profile information, experience, qualifications, reviews, screening status, availability, rates, and other information the Parent considers relevant before confirming care.Parents should ask appropriate questions and communicate any special needs, restrictions, medical considerations, activity limitations, or other expectations before entrusting a Child to a Sitter.
6. SITTER PROFILES AND USER
-PROVIDED INFORMATIONMuch of the information displayed in Sitter and Parent profiles is provided by Users.Users are required to provide truthful and accurate information. However, SitReady cannot guarantee that every statement, credential, description, preference, photograph, experience claim, availability entry, or other User-provided detail is complete, current, or accurate.SitReady may verify certain information or require supporting documentation when appropriate. The existence of a profile does not mean that SitReady has independently verified every statement or representation made by that User.
7. BACKGROUND SCREENING HAS LIMITATIONS
SitReady may require Sitters to complete background screening and identity-verification requirements before becoming eligible to accept Bookings.
Screening is an additional safety measure and is not a guarantee of present or future conduct.Background records may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, legally restricted, associated with another person, or absent because misconduct was never reported, charged, prosecuted, or entered into a searchable source.A screening badge or status indicates only that the Sitter completed the applicable SitReady screening process and met SitReady’s eligibility requirements at the time the status was issued.A screening badge or status is not a certification, endorsement, warranty, or guarantee that the Sitter is safe, reliable, qualified, or suitable for every family.Additional screening terms are provided in SitReady’s Background Check & Screening Policy.
8. REVIEWS ARE USER OPINIONS
Reviews and ratings may assist Parents and Sitters in evaluating prior experiences, but they are based on individual User experiences and opinions.A favorable review does not guarantee a similar experience in a future Booking, and a rating is not a professional certification or safety guarantee.SitReady may moderate, restrict, or remove reviews that violate applicable Platform policies. However, SitReady does not guarantee the accuracy of every factual assertion or opinion contained in a review.
9. NO GUARANTEE OF SITTER AVAILABILITY
SitReady does not guarantee that a Sitter will be available for any particular:
• Date or time;
• Location;
• Duration;
• Rate;
• Child;
• Care requirement;
• Instant Booking; or
• Last-minute request. A Booking is not guaranteed merely because a Parent submits a request. A Booking becomes confirmed only through the applicable SitReady confirmation process.
SitReady also cannot guarantee that an accepted Sitter will never become unavailable because of illness, emergency, transportation problems, severe weather, Account restrictions, or other circumstances.
10. NO GUARANTEE OF A PARTICULAR CHILDCARE OUTCOME
Childcare involves human judgment, changing circumstances, and risks that cannot be completely eliminated.SitReady does not guarantee that a Child will behave, sleep, eat, remain illness-free, avoid ordinary childhood injuries, reach a developmental milestone, enjoy a particular activity, or experience any other specific outcome during a Booking.SitReady also does not guarantee that every Parent and Sitter will be personally compatible or that every Booking will meet each User’s subjective expectations.
11. CHILDCARE INVOLVES INHERENT RISKS
Even when reasonable care is used, childcare can involve foreseeable and unforeseeable risks, including ordinary falls, bumps, illness, allergic reactions, choking hazards, behavioral incidents, playground or activity injuries, transportation risks, interactions with animals, environmental hazards, and other risks associated with supervising children.Nothing in this Disclaimer excuses a User from responsibility for negligence, misconduct, unsafe behavior, or other obligations imposed by applicable law.This section explains only that use of a childcare marketplace cannot eliminate every risk associated with childcare.
12. PARENT RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHILD INFORMATION
Parents are responsible for providing the Sitter with accurate and reasonably complete information needed to care for the Child, including, where relevant:
• Material allergies;
• Dietary restrictions;
• Health information relevant to care;
• Medications;
• Disabilities or accommodations;
• Behavioral or developmental needs relevant to safety;
• Emergency contacts;
• Authorized pickup persons;
• Established routines;
• Activity restrictions; and
• Other information reasonably necessary for safe care. SitReady does not independently diagnose, evaluate, or verify the Child’s medical, developmental, behavioral, or care needs.
13. SITTERS DECIDE WHETHER THEY CAN PERFORM REQUESTED CARE
Sitters are responsible for evaluating each Booking request and deciding whether they have the experience, ability, training, availability, and comfort level necessary to perform the requested childcare.A Sitter should decline a Booking or specific task that exceeds the Sitter’s qualifications, ability, legal authority, training, or comfort level.Acceptance of a Booking does not represent a SitReady determination that the Sitter has specialized professional qualifications unless SitReady expressly states that a particular credential has been independently verified.
14. SITREADY IS NOT A MEDICAL OR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER
SitReady does not provide:
• Medical advice;
• Nursing services;
• Medical diagnosis;

15. SPECIALIZED MEDICAL OR THERAPEUTIC CARE
SitReady’s ordinary childcare marketplace is not a substitute for licensed nursing, home health, therapy, behavioral health, or other regulated professional care.
A Parent who needs specialized services is responsible for determining whether the requested service requires a professional license, certification, prescription, care plan, or other qualification and for selecting an appropriately qualified provider.A Sitter must not represent ordinary SitReady eligibility or a background-screening badge as proof of a professional healthcare or therapeutic qualification.
16. MEDICATION
Any agreement for a Sitter to administer medication is between the Parent and Sitter and must comply with applicable law and SitReady’s safety requirements.SitReady does not prescribe medication, determine appropriate dosages, evaluate drug interactions, or supervise medication administration.A Sitter should not perform medication-related tasks outside the Sitter’s training, ability, legal authority, or agreed responsibilities.
17. TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not automatically included in every Booking.A Sitter may transport a Child only when:1.The Parent has authorized the transportation; 2.The Sitter has agreed to provide it; and 3.Applicable legal and safety requirements are satisfied. Unless SitReady expressly states otherwise for a particular feature or program, SitReady does not inspect every vehicle, car seat, driver’s license status, driving record, insurance policy, route, or transportation condition before each trip.Parents and Sitters are responsible for confirming transportation arrangements and legally required child-restraint requirements before transportation occurs.
18. POOLS, WATER, AND HIGHER
-RISK ACTIVITIESSwimming, boating, water activities, recreational vehicles, trampolines, and other higher-risk activities may involve hazards beyond ordinary indoor childcare.Parents and Sitters should clearly agree on authorized activities before the Booking and comply with applicable law and SitReady safety requirements.A Sitter is not required to perform a higher-risk activity merely because the activity is available at the care location.
19. HOME AND CARE LOCATION
SitReady does not routinely inspect every home, hotel, vacation rental, event venue, or other care location before a Booking.Parents are responsible for providing a reasonably safe care environment and disclosing known material hazards relevant to the Booking.Sitters are responsible for using reasonable judgment and may decline or end a Booking when they encounter a serious undisclosed safety concern.SitReady’s ability to investigate a reported hazard after an incident does not mean that SitReady previously inspected or approved the location.
20. PERSONAL PROPERTY
Parents and Sitters are responsible for safeguarding their own money, keys, vehicles, electronics, documents, jewelry, equipment, and other personal property.SitReady does not take possession of User property merely because a Booking occurs through the Platform and does not guarantee against loss, theft, accidental damage, or misuse by another User.Suspected theft, fraud, or intentional property damage may be reported to SitReady and, when appropriate, to law enforcement.
21. EMERGENCY SERVICES
SitReady Support is not:

• A law-enforcement agency;
• A fire department;
• A child-protection hotline; or
• A substitute for 911. If a Child or another person is in immediate danger or requires urgent medical, police, or fire assistance, Users should contact the appropriate emergency service first.SitReady’s Safety, Trust & Incident Reporting Policy explains how serious incidents should be reported to SitReady after immediate safety needs have been addressed.
22. MANDATORY REPORTING AND GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES
SitReady does not replace any legal duty a Parent, Sitter, or other person may have to report suspected child abuse, abandonment, neglect, exploitation, or other conduct to law enforcement or child-protection authorities.A report made to SitReady does not automatically satisfy a report required by law.Users remain responsible for complying with applicable mandatory-reporting requirements.

SitReady may provide in-app messages, push notifications, email, text messages, or other communications relating to Bookings or Accounts.Delivery may depend on device settings, network availability, contact information, third-party carriers, and other factors outside SitReady’s direct control.A notification shown as sent does not guarantee that the recipient immediately saw, opened, received, or acted upon it.
26. PAYMENT PROCESSING DOES NOT MAKE SITREADY THE CHILDCARE
PROVIDERSitReady may facilitate Parent payments and Sitter payouts through a payment provider.Collecting, processing, allocating, holding, or transmitting funds associated with a Booking does not make SitReady the provider of the underlying childcare services.Payment, fee, refund, cancellation, no-show, and Sitter-compensation rules are addressed in SitReady’s Payment, Fees, Refunds, Cancellations & No-Show Policy.
